Account Manager (French-speaking) | MCSA CPT

As an Account Manager your primary responsibility is the day-to-day management of a fast paced global account across Africa. You will work on several different projects simultaneously and must be adept at managing and building client relationships and reporting on the status of projects.

An M&C Account Manager must possess the following skills in order to succeed:

The candidate must be a natural leader with fantastic people skills, both within the agency environment and when dealing with clients.  

Account Management relies not only on communicating effectively with clients but ensuring that one displays impeccable presentation skills.      

As the Account Manager, you are expected to have a general understanding of performance marketing to translate it through the relevant stakeholders.

The ideal candidate needs to be able to handle several projects simultaneously.

It is crucial for the candidate to be attentive to the detail with every task that they are required to work on.

You are expected to be organised & process driven, this includes managing calendars to internal workflow etc.

In this role you will be expected to see through a project from inception right down to post campaign therefore project management skills are mandatory skills in the role.

Additional Role Dimensions:

·     Business accountability: Ensure that jobs are completed within the agreed timeframe so that there isn't a negative impact on the hours allocated.  

·     Financial accountability: Ensuring that POs/CE approvals are received timeously.

·     Billing jobs accurately if required.

Experience Required:

·     3 -5 years’ experience as an Account Manager /Project Manager (Big agency experience is preferable)

·     French speaking (huge bonus)

·     An understanding of the key departments, processes, and structures within an Advertising Agency

·     Good knowledge of media landscape (traditional- TTL, ATL & BTL & digital)

·     Experienced in working with senior clients across multiple stakeholders.

·     Must be PC literate: Microsoft Outlook, Word,PowerPoint, Excel - preferably with experience working CHASE software.

·     The ability to run with project from start to finish (Strategy to Roll out)

Qualification Required:

·     Matric certificate with college or university exemption (Marketing or Advertising qualification)

You will be responsible for proofing and copy editing written and digital content, as well as checking for style, tone and CI/VI across clients, in a fast-paced agency environment. You will also be required to write content for websites, brochures and the like from time to time. We are specifically looking for a QA who is able to check Zulu and Xhosa, vernac and common slang.

Any QA unicorns who are also able to perform technical QA will of course be loved and welcomed with open arms.

Critical aspects for success:

  1. The ability to check vernac and colloquialisms.
  2. An excellent command of the English language – first-language level.
  3. A natural perfectionist who is meticulous and has an obsession for detail.
  4. Speed and accuracy. As this is a fast-paced environment, accuracy at speed is essential.

Things you will be responsible for:

  1. Proofreading/copy editing work for spelling, grammar, punctuation, syntax, usage, consistency, style and brand voice.
  2. Checking for style/CI/VI correctness.
  3. Cross-checking references and data to ensure the accuracy of content.
  4. Checking digital content for functionality and correctness.

Required skills and qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree and at least 6 years in a similar role, along with the following:

  1. Team player – you will work as part of a QA team.
  2. Computer literate and proficient – preferably experienced using a Mac ­– with an understanding of Microsoft Teams, Office, Chase and Google docs.
  3. Strong writing and copy editing abilities.
  4. Experience in an ad agency environment is a plus.
  5. Detail oriented – whether on paper or on-screen, you’ll need to have a knack for catching the most basic of errors.
  6. Fast and accurate – with deadlines always around the corner, you’ll read, comment and edit quickly without sacrificing quality.
  7. Multitasker – as you will be working across a number of clients and client business units, you will need to be flexible and able to change focus and topic quickly, while pursuing error-free outputs.

  • Good knowledge of media landscape (traditional, TTL, ATL & BTL & digital).
  • Expert technical knowledge of AdobeCreative Cloud, specifically, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
  • A bonus would be a working knowledge of other platforms that help animators bring ideas to life: Premiere Pro, Cinema4D, Blender, Dimension, Midjourney etc.
  • Experienced in working with internal teams and senior clients across multiple stakeholders.
  • A proven, preferably award-winning, portfolio.
