We Believe In Here

Standard Bank

Can a content series change the way people see a continent?

As South Africa’s No. 1 Investment Bank, with a presence in 20 different markets, Standard Bank Corporate and Investment Banking is committed to driving Africa’s growth.

In 2022 alone, Standard Bank concluded deal in excess of R250 billion.

Last year alone, Standard Bank concluded numerous deals, which unlocked significant impact on the bank’s clients and regional economies. But it’s when you explore the impact the deals have on everyday people that the meaning of the numbers hits home. In a time of Afro-scepticism, we felt that it was important to showcase these deals, and how they’re reshaping our continent.

In partnership with Standard Bank, we created the ‘We Believe In Here’ campaign. A fully-integrated campaign that captures Standard Bank’s optimism and belief in the potential of Africa and her people.

Filmed in the style of a Netflix promo, the high energy trailer built anticipation around the 10 upcoming episodes. Each new episode was shot in market, across Africa. Capturing the unique textures and cultural nuances of each country, gave every episode its own authentic feel and flavour. We also wanted to hear the voices of the people responsible for bringing the deals to life. Local clients and the bank’s own people on the ground spoke candidly to the impact of the deal on their business, and on individuals in the surrounding communities. Importantly, every episode features a one-on-one interview with someone in the community whose life has been changed forever by the deal.

The series is human and un-corporate. And it provides inspiring insights into how Standard Bank’s multi-billion rand deals, often signed in corner offices, are having a real and tangible impact on the people of this beautiful continent we all call home.

The series silences the sceptics and inspires the world to take a new look at Africa.
