In their own words, "strategy is in a corner. We may not see it. We may not think it. But the tools, formats, templates, and models we thought would help us, have now become the process AND the goal – a lesser substitute for the majesty of independent thinking.”
Hence the title of their talk, “Strategy is constipated. Imagination is the laxative”.
This got me thinking about South Africa and how it seems that our government is suffering a similar constipation. Right now, we are not getting anything right and it doesn’t look like we will anytime soon.
Yet, we have a democracy with systems, processes, laws, and legislations but none of them have the laxative effect we need.
Can imagination, therefore, be the colon irrigation required to unblock and unlock our potential?
Okay, I’ll admit, that was a little gross.
