We sat down with Senior Strategist, Lindsay Manuel to chat not only about career moves, but also dance moves. Lindsay works on an exciting mix of brands, from the health category to the Heineken portfolio, and a little bit of cheese in between. She brings clarity and creativity to everything she touches and plays an integral role within our strategy department.

Q: WHAT ARE YOU MOST PROUD OF IN YOUR CAREER SO FAR?

A: A massive highlight in my career is being able to work on brands beyond the borders of South Africa. Getting to immerse myself in various cultures and nuances across different countries in Africa deepens my appreciation for this rich and resilient continent. Also, having the opportunity to travel to Rwanda was a very special moment.

Q: IF YOU WEREN’T IN ADVERTISING, WHERE WOULD YOU BE?

A: If I stuck to what I planned to do in high school, I'd be in working with balance sheets instead of timesheets. But if my childhood dreams came true, I'd be breaking it down next to Usher at his Super Bowl halftime performance.

 

Q: THREE THINGS ON YOUR BUCKET LIST?

A: Take a dance class in Japan or South Korea. Build and establish a fempire for women of colour to empower, upskill andprepare them for greatness. Learn how to cook.

Q: WHICH ONE OF OUR VALUES RESONATE WITH YOU THE MOST AND WHY?

A: OPEN. Although I am an introvert by nature, I love to challenge myself to be more open to new things, people, thoughts, ideas. I find that being open builds you into a better version of yourself.
